When it comes to food, I'm not all that picky. If it tastes good, I'll eat it.

For many Montanans, my wife included, condiments are a big deal. I could take them or leave them. Take cheeseburgers, for example, if a cheeseburger is made of quality meat, seasoned well, and has melted cheese, it doesn't need anything else in my book.

However, it seems that I'm in the minority when it comes to Big Sky Country.

According to Talker Research, when it comes to certain foods, condiments are a must. Their research states that foods like French fries and chicken nuggets lead the way for foods that we eat with different sauces.

When it comes to French fries, over 70 percent of Montanans use some sort of dipping sauce (ketchup is the number one answer). For chicken nuggets, it's just under 70 percent.

So, what is Montana's favorite condiment? Before we reveal the answer, let's check out 8 foods Montana is famous for.

What's the most popular condiment in Montana? Ketchup? Fry sauce? Bar-B-Q sauce? While all 3 are popular here in the Treasure State, when it comes to Montana's favorite condiment, that title goes to ranch dressing, according to both the Montana Free Press and the Missoulian.

Specifically, homemade ranch dressing.

What do Montanans eat ranch on? Everything. From fries to chicken rings, ranch is a Montana staple. It's so popular that many Montana restaurants will ask you if you would like a "side of ranch" when you order certain food items.
