He was called "The Mouth of the South" among other things.

There was a time that he was the owner of the Atlanta Braves, WCW Wrestling, Turner Broadcasting which included CNN, TBS, TNT and others. He was married to Jane Fonda for a time, and also called Montana home.

Ted Turner has passed away at the age of 87.

Turner took over the family business after his father passed away by suicide back in the early 60s. After buying radio stations and tv stations, Turner Advertising turned into Turner Communications. Turner would be the inventor of the 24 hour news cycle, would would re-share how Americans and the world would get their news.

Then there was the guy that loved Montana.

Turner bought his first property in Big Sky Country back in 1987 when he purchased the Bar None Ranch. He followed that up by buying the Flying D Ranch near Bozeman in 1989. Turner would become one of the states largest private land owners.

Ted Turner's Montana Legacy

It is said that Ted first came to Montana to fish, however, his passion turned to large-scale bison ranching. The media mogul owned multiple ranches in the state that he would used for ranching and wildlife conservation.

Of course, There's also the restaurants. Ted's Montana Grill was named after Turner and he was a co-founder and co-owner of the franchise which has a location in Bozeman. The restaurant features bison and is popular with locals and tourists alike. For those, who hung around the restaurant or the Hotel Baxter, you might run into Turner now and then, as he would enjoy a meal at the restaurant.
