While those on Social Media might make you think otherwise, Montana is a friendly place.

Montana is full of towns where folks still know their neighbors by name, and take time to chat with each other at the local grocery store, or a four-way stop. While some of the bigger towns might have somewhat of a less-than-friendly reputation, small-town Montana is alive and well.

While many places are full of hustle and bustle with people trying to get where they need to be, it's nice to know that here in Montana, there are still several places where people still wave to folks when passing each other, whether they know you are not.

Which Montana town was named the friendliest in America?

According to Denver News Station, Whitefish, Montana, is not only the friendliest town in Montana but also in the United States. This was based on reviews from Expedia travelers. Whitefish isn't the only Montana town to get high reviews from tourists; Bozeman was named one of the nation's friendliest towns.

Both Bozeman and Whitefish are tourist-dependent, bringing in hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, so it would make sense that both communities go out of their way to ensure that those who visit Big Sky Country have a good time experience.

Whitefish is close to Glacier National Park and offers a beautiful background with stunning views, and year-round activities. Bozeman is close to Yellowstone National Park and is an outdoor paradise.

For those who are less into touristy things and more into the "Old Montana", you will find fantastic small towns across the state that are just as welcoming without the traffic that you'll find in Whitefish and Bozeman.
