Unfortunately, Mother Nature doesn't always cooperate, and it doesn't look like a white Christmas is in the forecast in most places in Big Sky Country. It does look more promising in the western part of the state, but as of right now, it's not looking good for places like Bozeman and Billings.

I checked the 10-Day forecast on The Weather Channel website, and it's calling for afternoon rainshowers and a high near 50 on Christmas Day in Bozeman. In Billings, it's pretty much the same without the rain.

Residents in places like Missoula, Kalispell, and Whitefish are much more likely to wake up to snow on Christmas morning, so at least some people will get that extra dose of holiday magic.

While it hasn't been the start to winter most of us would like to see, there's still plenty of time for things to turn around. I'm asking Santa for deep powder and lift tickets.
