Here’s the Best Places to Watch the Northern Lights in Montana
Montana's wide-open skies and low levels of light pollution make it one of the best places in the United States to watch one of Mother Nature's most spectacular displays, the Northern Lights.
According to NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center, a strong G3 Geomagnetic Storm Watch is in effect for June 5, and three coronal mass ejections are expected to collide with the Earth.
The CMEs are expected to reach Earth late Thursday, June 4, through early Friday, June 5. If the weather cooperates, the ideal times for viewing will be between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.

Where To Watch the Northern Lights in Montana
If the weather cooperates and there's not too much cloudy cover, the skies above Montana will light up with streaks of pink, green, red, and purple. The state is ideal for watching because the skies are extremely dark. When it comes to watching the show, the less artificial light the better.
That's right. You need to get as far away from city lights as possible. National Parks are a great option because there isn't much artificial light. So, anywhere near Glacier National Park or Yellowstone National Park is a quality option.
Temperatures will cool tonight, so if you plan on going somewhere to view the aurora, make sure you bring something to keep you warm. Conditions are changing rapidly, but right now, it looks like people in Montana will be treated to something very special tonight if predictions are accurate.
