A small wildfire was set after a lightning strike hit Yellowstone National Park on Wednesday.

According to a park release, the first wildfire of the year in YNP was detected by hikers on the Seven Mile Hole Trail.

The 0.1 acre fire is located 3 miles east of Canyon Village, near the Yellowstone River.

The fire is on a steep rocky slope that is not accessible by foot. Because of the location of the fire, firefighters will monitor the situation the fire from the canyon rim.

Park officials say that  the fire currently does not pose a threat to park visitors.
