Mariah Carey Settles Sexual Harassment Lawsuit With Stella Bulochnikov
Mariah Carey has settled a lawsuit with former manager Stella Bulochnikov.
The pair were locked in a legal battle, which began in April 2018 when the "All I Want For Christmas" singer's former manager filed a lawsuit alleging that she sexually harassed her, according to Page Six. An attorney for Bulochnikov told the outlet the two came to a "mutually agreed resolution."
Carey's ex-manager and friend agreed to "discontinue this action against Mariah Carey with prejudice, with each party to bear its own attorneys' fees and costs," court documents, obtained by The Blast, revealed. It's unclear whether Bulochnikov received a financial settlement or damages from Carey, 48.
The drama began in 2017 when, after three years of working together professionally, Carey and Bulochnikov parted ways. They two released a joint statement on the matter vowing to "continue to support each other in those endeavors."
Then, in April, The Blast and TMZ reported that the ex-manager was accusing Carey of sexually harassing her by being naked in front of her regularly. The outlets also reported that Bulochnikov claimed Carey was battling addiction and owed her one-time manager millions. Carey's team refuted all those claims.
"Stella Bulochnikov was terminated from employment as Mariah's manager due to failure to perform her job effectively and ill-serving her client. Stella was not under contract for employment," Carey's rep said in a statement to People. "She has been spreading false rumors to any media outlet that will publish them. We won't respond to lies and threats."
