Montana Is One Of The Least Pet-Friendly States in America
I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty surprised when I read a new report about how Montana is one of the least pet-friendly states in the country.
Practically everyone that I know in the Bozeman area owns a pet. A lot of people consider their pets family. I own two dogs and can't imagine my life without them.
On the surface, you'd think that Montana would be one of the most pet-friendly states, but apparently, that's not the case. I've heard of a lot of people getting turned down on rental applications due to the fact that they owned a pet.
According to a new report from safewise.com, Montana ranks near the bottom of pet-friendly states. Out of all of the lower 48, Montana is #47. The report aims to help people find a place to call home for themselves, as well as their pets. The only state that is less pet-friendly is New Mexico.
To find the most pet-friendly states, Safewise used pet population, rentals that allow pets, and laws that protect pets and prevent abuse. Half of the ranking was determined by how easy it is for you and your pet to find a place to live. For more details on the ranking factors, click here.
Data in the report shows that only 9% of all rentals in Montana are pet friendly. Unfortunately, Montana is in the top 3 states with the lowest percentage of pet-friendly rentals.
Literally, every state that surrounds Montana is considered at least somewhat pet friendly. Why isn't Montana? It kind of makes you sad, doesn't it?
