Montana's Housing Market is America's Least Affordable
Finding affordable housing is Montana has been a struggle in Montana for quite some time, but now the issue has been thrust into the national spotlight. According to new data from the National Association of Realtors. Montana is the least affordable state in America when it comes to buying a home.
Affordable housing has been a hot-button issue in Montana for several years. As a result, the homeless population in the state has grown. It's not uncommon to see rows of urban campers in Montana's larger cities. Montana ranked dead-last in the country for affordable housing. The state received a score of .38. The latest numbers were released in April. The scale starts at 0, and a such a small score means that most people that live in Montana can't afford to purchase a home.
The median home prices in cities like Bozeman and Missoula are at an all-time high, and things don't look like they'll be getting better anytime soon.
