When any popular musician sings about your state, you can't help but feel a little pride. When one of the biggest country stars in the world gives your state a shoutout, it's an honor.

Montana has been the inspiration for several hit songs. Merle Haggard, John Denver, Jimmy Buffett, Frank Zappa, Dan Seals, and Marie Osmond have drawn inspiration from the state for their songs in the past. Now, one of country music's fastest rising stars has given Montana the musical treatment.

On August 29, Zach Top will release his new album Ain't In It For My Health, and he's already dropped a couple of songs off of it on streaming platforms. In his brand-new single South of Insanity, Zach Top gives Montana a heartfelt shoutout, weaving the Big Sky State into the lyrics like an old friend.

The song is essentially about a guy who is constantly on the road, and it starts to cause problems in his personal relationships.

Here's the first line:

Playing a rodeo in Montana tonight.

After a few lines, Top begins the chorus and shows Missoula some live.

But I'm somewhere outside of Missoula
They just called my name from the stage
When we hung up she was talkin' leavin'
Now how am I supposed to sing and play
She's left me somewhere south of sanity
Still just north of insane

An official video for the song has not been released, but you can listen to the audio below.
