From dusty backroads to packed grandstands, rodeo isn't just a sport in Montana, it's a way of life. Almost every small town in the state hosts an annual rodeo. In 2023, the Valley View Rodeo was founded in Bozeman, and it has since become a highly anticipated weekly event during the summer.

According to CBS News, Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband Brandon Blackstock has passed away at the age of 48. Blackstock quietly battled cancer before passing away on August 7.

Blackstock's family released the following statement after his death:

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time.

Before their highly publicized divorce, Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock spent time together on their ranch in Montana. Following the divorce, Blackstock settled in Bozeman, where he eventually started the Valley View Rodeo in 2023. On Wednesday, Kelly Clarkson informed fans that she was cancelling her Las Vegas residency because her children's father had been ill.

Before working closely with Kelly Clarkson, Blackstock built his career representing Blake Shelton. He is also the stepson of Reba McEntire.
