Montana State Football Will Have a New Voice For Games
With the Montana State football season coming up in less than three months, a change in announcers is abrupt. Who will step in as the announcer for MSU football?
406 MT Sports reported that Montana State football and basketball play-by-play announcer Zach Mackey will be leaving after being hired as the director of broadcasting at Virginia Tech. Zach will be the sideline reporter for football and the men's basketball voice.
Zach Mackey was hired in 2019 to be the voice of the Bobcats and has been incredible in the past two and a half years. People loved the way he called football and basketball games. He was there when the Bobcats reached the National Championship game in 2021, and the basketball team reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in almost thirty years.
We are happy to see Zach get a great opportunity at a massive college, but this brings up some questions for Montana State University.
Montana State football opens the season with a home game at Bobcat Stadium on Saturday, September 3rd, against McNeese State, though we aren't sure who will be announcing it.
Montana State and Learfield Sports have had a great history of getting young, exciting talent as the voice of the Bobcat in recent years. We can only expect that the search for the new Bobcat voice is already underway, and we can't wait to see who will be hired.
Whoever it is will have a great time. Montana State Athletics excitement is at an all-time high right now—and who doesn't want to be a part of that?
