I don't have children, but I am always amazed when I see kids in my life playing with iPod's, i Pad's, Smartphones - basically what ever they can get their hands on!  Well, Nickelodeon has been asking kids for awhile what they want out of their app's, and the answer really surprised them.

Kids were not looking to watch Nick favorites like Sponge Bob Square Pants or iCarly, they wanted to play kids games. So, the folks at Nickelodeon designed its first attempt at and app as a colorful, noisy, collection of music videos, animated clips, games, and of course - green slime. Nickelodeon executives describe it, the app is designed to be a “ginormous grid of everything Nick.”

If the kids want to watch a Nickelodeon show, that requires parents to subscribe to the service and pay a fee. According to Nickelodeon's research,

Tablet use among children 11 years old and younger is projected to grow faster than almost any other age group. Half of households in the United States with children own a tablet and 70 percent have some sort of smart device, according to Nickelodeon’s research.

What do you think of this?  Do you think technology as a whole is changing?  What do you think about kids using devices such as the iPad and iPhone?
