With the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing upon us, online conversation among conspiracy theorists has bubbled up on whether the event did indeed happen or if NASA faked the entire thing.

For years we have heard people question a few different aspects connected to the images sent back to Earth during this historic event.

Here are a few of the common questions conspiracy theorists often bring up:

  • Why are there no stars in the background of the photos taken in 1969?
  • Why does the American flag have ripples in it when there was no wind on the Moon.
  • Why are the astronaut's footprints so perfectly stamped in the Moon's surface?

While these questions may be interesting for some folks to ponder, there are facts that can quickly explain and ultimately answer them ... or can they?
