Perfect Gift? Lots of Montana Senior Dogs Available for Adoption
I think we can all agree, puppies are cute. Even if you don't like dogs (which is a huge red flag, by the way) puppies are adorable.
Puppies are also a lot of work.
They chew, mostly on things you don't want them to chew on. They pee and poo everywhere. Oh, and those sharp puppy teeth are the worst! They whine at night, plus there are all of the supplies that come with puppies. Then there is the socialization aspect and that takes time to get them trained to be around other dogs and people.
My point? Maybe you want a dog, but you don't have the time or energy for a puppy, how about a senior dog?
November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month and what better gift to give a senior dog than a loving home? We've all heard the stories of how shelter dogs bond with their owners in a special and unique way, so imagine that bond with a senior dog.
There are a couple of options within a couple of hours of Bozeman if you're thinking of adopting a senior dog. Here in Bozeman, there is Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter has a number of senior dogs available on their website with descriptions and pictures. You can check them out by clicking here.
Another place to check out is over in Billings at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter. They also have a nice selection of some wonderful senior dogs. You can view them by clicking here.
Of course there are other shelters and many senior dogs that are looking for a forever home. If you're anything like me, you want to take them all home. Just a thought, Christmas is just around the corner, maybe getting yourself a senior dog would be the perfect gift.
