Should I Cancel My Birthday Trip to Seattle Due to Coronavirus?
I planned the trip a long time ago. Now, I am having second thoughts.
Earlier today, it was reported that a total of six people have died from the Coronavirus in Washington State. I am beginning to get a little freaked out.
Here's the main reason. I have a birthday trip planned in Seattle this weekend. A few months ago, my mother and I decided we would meet in Seattle for my birthday weekend. The plan has been in place for quite awhile. I've been really looking forward to the trip, but am now a bit hesitant due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak in Washington state.
My mom is a nurse and has assured me that there is nothing to worry about, as long we take proper steps to avoid getting sick. Unfortunately, that does little to calm my nerves.
Since I'm flying, I plan on taking disinfectant wipes in my carry on luggage and wiping down everything in my area of the plan down before I take my seat. I also plan on washing my hands as frequently as possible, and having a good amount of hand sanitizer with me at all times.
The last thing I want to do is cancel my trip. After all, you only turn 35 once. What would you do if you were in my situation? Would you still go on the trip, or would you cancel it all together?
