The suspects led multiple law enforcement agencies on a high speed pursuit that ended Friday night near West Yellowstone.

On Monday, the Gallatin County Commission announced that it has appointed Dan Springer to serve as the interim sheriff while commissioners work to appoint a permanent replacement for former Sheriff Brian Gootkin.

The suspect in expected to make his initial appearance in court on Monday afternoon and will face charges of attempted homicide.

The two hunters were from the Bozeman area and were considered experienced hunters, according to the report from the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office.
