Let us start by saying that we love, love, love all of the celebs that unfortunately landed on our 2014 Golden Globes Worst Dressed list. Not every outfit or ceremony yields home runs, though. It's a fashion fact of life.

The 2014 Golden Globes boasted a red carpet dripping with gorgeous gowns. The two hot trends we noticed? Strapless gowns and belted dresses.

There were some serious red carpet clunkers at the 2013 Golden Globes. The dresses that were bad were ... really bad. There was nothing middling or "ho hum" about this selection of dumpy dresses, failure frocks and groan-inducing gowns. It's a shame, since all of the ladies on this list are beauties in their own right. But boy did they choose the wrong dresses for this event.

So the Golden Globes turned 70 this year, and they're looking better than ever. And since the booze flows freely right there on the tables, it's one of the more laid-back awards shows of the season, so we knew we were in for a few surprises - and even more laughs - at this year's ceremony. Shocker, Ricky Gervais was not on his best behavior as the Golden Globes host. Fortunately for the other stars in the audience, he wasn’t as bad as he could have been. That didn’t seem to matter to Madonna when it came time for her to take the stage.
