As Heidi Klum descended from the ceiling at the 2012 Europe Music Awards, she announced Lana Del Rey as the first award presenter of the night.

Dressed in a long navy dress and her brunette locks teased high to rival that of Nancy Sinatra from back in the day, the singer was her typical sultry self as she said hello to the crowd in Frankfurt, Germany. She was sweet and her voice was gentle, and she took her time announcing the nominees for Best Female Artist.

The winner was of course, Taylor Swift, who looked pretty in her white and silver dress; and it was awkwardly wonderful to see LDR and Swift on stage together, given how extraordinarily different the two artists are.

"Hi Frankfurt! This is my very first EMA. I'm so excited, thank you so much to the fans that voted," said the singer as she held the award in her hands. "This is unreal, and I wanna thank MTV for everything and all the fans who voted. This was our first time touring Europe this year. Thank you for giving me one more reason to come back and see you. Thank you so much."

Congrats on your first EMA, Taylor! We're sure there will be many more to come!
