Vintage WWII Planes on Display in Bozeman

Several vintage WWII airplanes will be on display at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport on Wednesday and Thursday (July 6-7) this week as part of the Wings of Freedom Tour that will be visiting 110 cities this summer.

Among the planes that you will be able to see are:

• WWII Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress "Nine O Nine"
• Consolidated B-24 Liberator "Witchcraft"
• B-25 Mitchell "Tonelayo" Bomber
• P-51 Mustang Fighter "Betty Jane"

This will be a rare opportunity to visit, explore, and learn about these unique treasures of aviation history.

The planes will be on display at the airport on Wednesday and Thursday at Arlin's Aircraft Service, 530 Wings Way. The hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. You can explore the aircraft inside and out. Adult cost is $12, $6 for children 12 and under.

Visitors can also experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a 30-minute flight aboard some of these aircraft. Flights on either the B-17 or B-24 are $450 per person. Get some “stick time” in the world’s greatest fighter! P-51 flights are $2,200 for a half hour and $3,200 for a full hour. B-25 flights are $400 per person. The Wings of Freedom Tour is a flying tribute to the flight crews, ground crews, and workers who serviced and flew these airplanes. It is also a tribute to the soldiers, sailors, and airmen the airplanes helped protect during WWII.
