Each spring, Yellowstone National Park has to clear snow and ice from 321 miles of roads to prepare for the summer season. Of course, they say springtime is a great time to visit, with smaller crowds, and opportunities to see babies, like "bison calves, bears, bull elk antlers in velvet, and the arrival of migratory birds."

On Friday, April 21, starting at 8 a.m., some roads in Yellowstone National Park will open for the season, including:

  • Mammoth Hot Springs to Norris (Construction is going on, expect as much as 30 minute delays)
  • Norris to Madison
  • Madison to Old Faithful
  • Madison to West Entrance
  • Norris to Canyon Village
