There are a lot of stereotypes when it comes to each state, for example, we all know that everything is bigger in Texas.

I came up with a list of five ridiculous ideas tourists have about Montana, that are completely inaccurate. As I am already aware, most of you won't agree with these, which is fine with me.

I understand why people who are originally from Montana say this. They miss the small town that was surrounded by gravel roads. They miss the days when 10,000 people were not cramming their selves into the town every weekend. And they miss the affordable cost of living.

Is Montana actually "full" though? No. We have an incredible amount of land, and we literally have more cows than people.

We hate tourists.

Montana actually doesn't hate tourists. Tourism provided over 40,000 jobs and brought in over 2 million dollars in revenue. We definitely don't "hate tourists", but what we get irritated with, is the increase in population crowding every road and business, people driving like they are lost, (which they probably are) and everyone rushing around like they are more important than everyone else.

Everyone names their kids "Bridger".

I only know a couple of people with the name Bridger. I actually know more dogs named Bridger than I know humans.

No, you actually don't. We can see a poser from a mile away. Just wear whatever you normally would wear, and don't try and act all "Western" just because you are visiting the most beautiful place on earth.

I'm heading to Montana, I will definitely see a bear!

It's actually not that common to see bears. They typically are not just hanging out on the side of the interstate, waving and welcoming you to town. So I wouldn't put all your hopes in one jar that you will see a bear.

The next time you are talking about Montana or hear someone talking about it, keep in mind, they may not realize how ridiculous they sound.
