Montana State University has announced that both men's and women's basketball will start their seasons with no fans in Worthington Arena. According to a press release issued by the Bobcat Athletic Department, the university is following guidance from the Gallatin City-County Health Department.

“We believe beginning our season without fans in attendance is the proper thing to do for the safety of everyone involved," said Bobcat Athletic Director Leon Costello. "We will continue to evaluate the information we receive and make decisions accordingly."

Both MSU men's and women's basketball teams are set to begin their season's in the next few weeks. The Bobcat women are supposed to open against South Dakota School of Mines on November 25th, but South Dakota canceled. Athletic Director Leo Costello indicated that the team still hopes to play on that date and that the Bobcat women are currently working on scheduling a new opponent. Right now on the schedule, the Bobcat women will play North Dakota on December 6th and South Dakota on December 21st.

The Bobcat men under second-year head coach Danny Sprinkle is still in the process of finalizing its non-conference schedule.

Despite not being able to watch MSU basketball in person, Bobcat fans will be able to catch every home game for the men & women's teams, and all Big Sky Conference games, live on Pluto TV. In addition, Montana State Bobcat basketball, men's and women's, will be broadcast on 1450AM KMMS.

Athletic Director Costello said that Bobcat Athletics constantly monitors reports and guidelines from the NCAA, the University, and the county and state, and that MSU basketball attendance policy is constructed to respond to changing public health circumstances.

As for football, there's still no word on whether fans will be allowed into Bobcat Stadium when MSU hosts their first 2021 spring football season game on March 13th vs Northern Colorado.
