Bobcat Lurking On Roof Near University Of Montana Campus
How fun is this article going into the big Cat/Griz game???
MISSOULA - What would you do if you were a big Griz fan and you found a bobcat on your roof during Cat/Griz week?
It happened to one Missoula couple who live across the street from the University of Montana campus. They decided to take its picture.
Frank and Susan Matule, who live on Beckwith Avenue, spotted the critter sneaking around on their roof the past two days. They assure us, it's not a joke. But they knew no one would believe a bobcat was lurking in Griz territory, so they ran to get the camera Tuesday, but scared it away.
On Wednesday they had the camera ready when the cat came back.
Frank Matule said the bobcat had a "worried look on its face," but he doesn't yet know what it means.
"We thought, this has got to be an omen of some kind," he said. "We don't know how to interpret it yet. If this is a bobcat coming here pleading for mercy or if it's a bobcat who thinks it owns us so it's taken over our property here. So we'll see what happens."
The Matules have lived in the University neighborhood for nearly 30 years and said they are die-hard Griz fans who haven't missed a game in the new stadium. But this is the first time they've ever seen a bobcat in their neighborhood.
