Well, we all know that Californians love Montana, and in particular, they love Bozeman. Which I mean, who wouldn't? We have the Bobcats, the mountains, the community, overall Bozeman is amazing. So when I heard that a person from California had won the huge lottery jackpot of $700 million dollars, I was like "Oh brother".

I think a lot of us feel this way. And here is the thing, it's not that Bozeman doesn't like people. It's not that they do not want anyone coming here, it's the fact that when people, for example, from California come to Bozeman, they think their California ways should also come. And that, my friends, is where they go wrong. If you are leaving a state to start new...then start new.

So if the person who won this lottery jackpot is reading this, here is what you can do with that money. First off, give back to your California Community. Find an organization there that could use the money for families, kids, youth centers, whatever it may be.

OR, if you insist on coming to Bozeman with it, here are a few things you can do with it to not get completely shunned by the community. Give to a local charity. We have enough non-profits that could use the money. Buy some land and use it as an animal rescue. Don't be building some ridiculous building that is just going to be an eyesore for the people that enjoy seeing the mountains. Restore an older building in town and create a warm place for our homeless or reasonably priced housing. Those are your options.

We don't want your money to build overpriced apartments. We don't want your money to build some overpriced grocery stores. Unless you are going to help rebuild the beautiful community we have, then please, do not expand your California ways here. Unless of course, you are actually giving back.
