How cool is this? Bozeman based SIMMS put their talent where their mouth is to make gowns for our health care workers.

Daily Update / Tip: It’s working! Keep it up! The CDC and other organizations rely on models and projections to determine the timing, scope and likely impact of the Covid-19 virus – nationally and on a state-by-state basis. Models are adjusted as new data - and on-the-ground factors – are fed into the projections. It appears that physical distancing, hand-washing and other staying at home are indeed starting to have an impact. These next 2-3 weeks will be absolutely crucial, however, if we’re going to truly flatten the curve. Remember, you have a personal role in this process. Given the contagious nature of Covid-19, your actions matter. How you spend your day matters. Keep up the good work!

FAQ: Q: I manage an essential business. What can I do to make sure I’m operating it safely? A: According to the healthygallatin.org website: “Essential businesses permitted to continue to operate during the statewide order must implement minimum basic operations, and, where feasible, social distancing requirements including: • Six-foot social distancing for both employees and members of the public must be designated at all times with signage, tape or other means. (e.g. where customers stand in line) • Having hand sanitizer and sanitizing product readily available for employees and customers. • Separate operating hours for vulnerable populations, such as the elderly. • Positing regarding online or remote access services. • Employ telework or other remote working opportunities. Businesses with questions can contact a dedicated state line at 1-800-755-6672 and leave messages 24- hours a day and will receive a prompt response.”

Pulling Together: Simms Fishing Products has done something quite extraordinary; they have retooled their production line from making fishing apparel to making high-quality, reusable medical gowns for Bozeman Health’s front-line employees. 1,500 gowns are being produced by Simms’ talented sewing staff and the reviews from the Bozeman Health staff is very positive. What Can I Do? The Salvation Army helps pack and give out food to neighbors in our community. Their location in the heart of downtown Bozeman increases food access to those in need. They are looking for a handful of dedicated, good-humored, and selfless volunteers to help pack food Monday through Friday. They are taking safety precautions for the health of staff, volunteers, and clients. Please only consider volunteering if you are healthy and not a part of an at-risk population for COVID-19. Two shifts are available: 8:30am to noon or 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Help is needed Monday through Friday. Please call Tia at 605.440.1452 if you can help and she will put you in contact with the Salvation Army.
