Do Montanans Really Want to Move to States People are Leaving?
Montanans want to move to where?!
According to a new report from movingapt.com, Montanans want to move to Washington, California, and Texas. Go ahead... let that sink in for a second. Three of the states that many locals love to disparage are where we apparently want to move to the most.
Something seems a little off.
The relocation website analyzed search terms from people in Montana who used phrases like, “houses in”, “Zillow”, “Apartments in”, “Living in”, “Move to”, “Live in” and “Relocate to” ______.
California
The top state we're apparently enthralled with relocating to is California. Gasp. This simply can't be true. Or is it? Over half of all other states have residents that are also thinking about moving to the Golden State, according to the data. I don't have any desire to move to California, but if you need convincing, this story proves twenty-one reasons everyone should move there now (2017).
Washington
Yes, that Washington. Home of Seattle with its mayhem and riots and homeless and drugs and whatnot. All topped by astronomical real estate prices; the fourth highest in the US according to their report. Washington State has a lot of cool things though, and I would actually consider moving to certain parts of the Evergreen State.
Texas.
Montanans do have a few things in common with Texans. Firearms, freedom, beef, ag, and "America!" come to mind. I have friends in Texas and I have visited the Lone Star State. Parts of it are really nice. That said, I would have to make a lot of money to move to Texas.
How about you?
We love it in Montana. Otherwise, we'd move, right? But if you had to move or want to move to another state, which would it be and why? Or if you hit the jackpot and could afford a second home somewhere else? I'd love to hear from you. Email me at michael@billingsmix.com or reach out on our social channels.
