Call me old fashioned, but there aren't many things as satisfying than a cup of coffee and a slice of pie.

There aren't many restaurants in the Gallatin Valley that offer a great selection of pie on a daily basis. In the past, there were places like Frontier Pies (now Fork & Spoon) and Perkins (closed in 2019), but those places aren't around anymore.

Fortunately, the Iron Horse Cafe & Pie Shop in Three Forks has a great selection of pies that you can either purchase whole, or by the slice. The types of pies available changes on a regular basis. The pies are made by the Three Forks Pie Lady, and are absolutely delicious. My personal favorite is the pecan pie, but if that's not your thing, you always have a variety of different pies to choose from.

According to the Iron Horse Cafe & Pie Shop Facebook page, the pies listed below are available for purchase by the slice right now.

  • Bourbon Pecan
  • Huckleberry Blackberry
  • Cherry
  • Salted Caramel Cheesecake
