Gallatin City-County Board of Health Extends Face Mask Mandate
The Gallatin City-County Health Department recently made changes to a few public health rules. One rule will require residents in Gallatin County to continue wearing face coverings through May 27.
The Gallatin City-County Board of Health held a meeting on Monday, April 5 and voted on changes to the following public health rules:
Face Coverings: EXTENDED
- The Board extended the requirement to use face coverings in public settings until May 27.
Phase 2 Reopening: EXTENDED & AMENDED
- The Board extended the Phase 2 Reopening rule until May 10 with changes to seating capacity in bars and restaurants.
- No more than eight people seated at a table (doesn’t apply to families with children 18 years or younger seated with their parent/guardian).
- No less than three feet between patrons seated at a bar.
Quarantine and Isolation: REPEALED
- The Board repealed the quarantine and isolation rule. The GCCHD continues to do contact tracing for new cases and close contacts in order to reduce transmission and to ask people to quarantine and isolate as needed.
Long Term Care Visitation: REPEALED
- The Board repealed the emergency rule that requires limited visitation at nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, and senior and assisted living facilities in Gallatin County. The GCCHD will continue working with long-term care facilities to enforce an existing health officer order requiring facilities to maintain staffing, personal protective equipment, and screening of visitors and staff to reduce COVID-19 transmission.
The Gallatin City-County Health Department continues to limit the spread of COVID-19 through contact tracing and other health officer rules. The Board fully supports the GCCHD's continued actions in this effort.
