The Livingston community is rallying together to support the family of Craig Clouatre.

Clouatre was reported missing on Wednesday, March 23. He and a friend went for a hike in the Six Mile Trail area near Emigrant. The pair separated and Clouatre did not return to an established meeting spot.

After an extensive search, crews discovered the body of the missing hiker on Friday, March 25. Wildlife officials believe Clouatre had an encounter with a grizzly bear, and unfortunately, did not survive.

Craig Clouatre was a resident of Livingston. He was married with four children. The Clouatre family lost their home to a fire two years ago, but have rebuilt and recently moved back into the home. Craig was loved by everyone that met him, and his loss has been felt throughout the Livingston community and Montana.

A GoFundMe page has been started as a way to help Clouatre's wife Jamie and their four children through this incredibly difficult time.

There is really no good way to help, at this time the needs they have far outweigh the ability to provide support. But one way we can all rally together is to raise funds so that they don’t have to worry about anything financially.

Friend of the Clouatre family, Bev Dawson has partnered with Compassionate Neighbors, a human services support group in Livingston to create a fund to help the family. If you'd like to donate, you can find the information below.
