Is Montana One Of The Best Barbecue Spots In America?
I might have mentioned once or twice that I'm a fan of barbecue. I was born and raised near the barbecue capital of the world, so while I wouldn't say I'm an expert, I do feel like I know more than the average person.
There are several different factors that go into a successful cook. The quality of the meat, the wood, and patience. The last one is normally the most difficult to deal with.
Great barbeque takes time, and if you're one of those folks that is impatient or feel like you have to peek under the top of the grill every 15 to 20 minutes, you're in for a long wait until supper time.

When you think of high-quality barbeque, a few places come to mind. Missouri, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Each place has its own "style," and the debate, of course, is which one is better. I like to say barbecue is like religion; everyone thinks theirs is the best.
While Montana is known for its beef, there are also some wonderful barbecue spots to check out across Big Sky Country. Here are 5 of the very best:

Is Montana a great place for barbecue?
Actually, according to recent data, yes, it is. The folks over at TDM Agency came out with a list of the best states for backyard barbecues, and Montana scored near the top.
Ok, when I say near the top, I mean one of the top states. Montana ranked 11th out of 50 states for the best places to do a backyard barbecue.
One of the great things about backyard cooks is that you're in charge. You can do something basic like burgers and hot dogs, or you can expand your skills and try something a little more time-consuming like a brisket or ribs.
Several different types of grills are popular across the state. Some folks love charcoal, while others use natural gas. There's the old school wood-fired, and the electric pellet grills that are extremely popular.
Like anything, barbecue takes practice, and the more you do it, the better you become. Several different retail stores not only sell grills, but they also have all of the accessories, including rubs, sauces, and a whole lot more.
Kenyon Noble, Ace Hardware, and Murdoch's are great to get started for those looking to dip their toes into the wonderful world of barbecue.
