Quick Snow Invasion For SW MT Mountains: 10″ More Possible
10 more inches of snow could land in southwest Montana mountains by Wednesday evening. Madison and Gallatin counties are the target of this next round of snowy weather.
Although the roads at lower elevations might get a little tricky at times, another significant snowfall is great news for the snowpack levels. Montana has made leaps and bounds in the last 30 days with several large storms.
NOTE: Heavy wet snow may increase avalanche danger in the southern mountains. The early snowpack was fragile and unstable, so every time we get a good snowfall, the avalanche danger can increase very quickly.
If you have concerns about back country conditions, you can always get the latest information and warnings from the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center.

As of Monday, March 11th: "Near Bozeman, Big Sky, West Yellowstone and Island Park the likelihood of triggering avalanches has decreased since our last snowfall, but the consequences of being caught remain high. A person can trigger slabs of wind-drifted snow or slides many feet deep on buried weak layers."
