Kesha Teases ‘True Colors’ Music Video: ‘This Is A Declaration of My Truth’
Zedd and Kesha’s “True Colors” collaboration isn’t officially out until tomorrow (April 29) — though it did hit the web early -- but Kesha has drummed up sufficient excitement for the song’s accompanying music video with a single Facebook post.
“This is more than a song,” she wrote of the 30-second clip. “This is a declaration of my truth.”
The clip is short, but it does its duty: Kesha -- wearing a bedazzled bodysuit -- runs through a field of flowers as the track plays in the background. The video does a fine job of reflecting the "Warrior" singer's newfound sense of freedom in finally being able to record music -- even if it's not a Kesha original.
Zedd and Kesha first unveiled their "True Colors" collaboration during the producer’s Coachella set, when Kesha took the stage unexpectedly. But things were first set in motion back when Zedd tweeted his support to Kesha after he read about the legal case she brought against music producer Dr. Luke.
He tweet -- which read, “very very sorry to hear about the whole situation. I’ll be happy to produce a song to you if you want my help" -- started a back-and-forth between Zedd and Kesha's team, who reached out to see if he was serious about recording.
"Her team actually hit us back confirming that I was serious about it, which is really cool,” he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I’m obviously very serious about it, so maybe something will happen. Maybe there’s something I can do. Maybe we can do some music. Nothing I can say right now, but it would be cool."
Check out the music video for "True Colors" when it drops tomorrow (April 29).
