Lindsay Lohan Grand Theft Update
I think she thought the white dress would make her seem more innocent! It's official - Lindsay Lohan has been charged with grand theft!
Lindsay Lohan pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of grand theft in court on Wednesday (February 9th) and was released after paying $40,000 bail. She is accused of stealing a $2,500 from a California jewelry store.
Judge Keith Schwartz set bail for the felony charge at $20,000 -- and revoked her probation stemming from her DUI arrest -- setting bail for that at $20,000 as well. Lindsay was ordered to return to court on February 23rd for a preliminary hearing.
During the hearing, Judge Schwartz said that Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, and prosecutor Danette Meyers, were going to meet to possibly reach a plea bargain.
* Lindsay was also ordered to stay away from the jewelry store that she allegedly stole the $2,500 necklace from. Meyers told the judge that someone sent the store owner flowers after the case broke, which "kind of freaked them out."
