If you're looking for plans this weekend, this sounds like a lot of fun.

The Pony Bar in Pony, Montana is hosting a Duck Race this Saturday, June 27. According to The Pony Bar Facebook page, this will be the first duck race in 7 years. The ducks are plastic, not real ducks.

The duck race consists of buying numbered plastic ducks which are then dropped in the creek. After that, you watch as your ducks race to the finish line. There's a BBQ and cash prizes for winners of the duck races.

Two races are planned for this Saturday. A first heat and a second heat. There is no limit to how many ducks you can purchase.

First Heat - Ducks are $20 - Includes a plate of home cooking BBQ and your duck with a number.

  • 1st place - $500
  • 2nd place - $300
  • 3rd place  - $150

Second Heat - Limited to 100 ducks. Ducks are $100 each - Includes BBQ.

Winner takes all. $4,000

The BBQ is available for everyone, even if you don't purchase a duck to race. There will also be live music featuring Tessy Lou and the Shotgun Stars. Shuttle are planned from Three Forks to Pony. Call The Pony Bar at 406 - 685 - 3386 for more information.
