Montana has a few food franchises and food we are known for, but what about food brands? Something that is made in Montana and sold nationwide.

That's why we were surprised to find out the most famous brand is something we never expected.

Taste of Home made a list of the Most Famous Food Brands in Every State, and Montana is a breakfast essential.

The most famous brand out of Montana is Cream of the West whole grain cereal. Cream of the West is manufactured in the small town of Harlowton and has been in business for over 100 years.

If you didn't know, Montana is one of the best producers of whole grain throughout the United States, and the folks at Cream of the West took advantage of it. They have several types of hot cereal and have expanded their lines in recent years.

Who knew that Cream of the West is milled and manufactured in the small town of Harlowton? I have traveled through Harlowton many times over the past several years and never knew their headquarters were in the middle of Montana.

The only other Montana brand I know of is Hi-Country Jerky, which is also located in a small Montana town. It's always amazing to learn that some of the best brands from Montana are manufactured in small towns across Montana. That goes to show anything is possible in any Montana town.
