However, there's a fairly new Asian restaurant the opened in Bozeman, Montana in 2023 that has earned a reputation for being one of the best in the state. The restaurant was also recently named a James Beard Award semifinalist in the "Best New Restaurant" category.

Montana residents have been raving about Shan, and the restaurant has been getting a bunch of 5-star reviews on Yelp.The restaurant is the result of 20 years of eating and cooking across Asia. Owners Jarrett Wrisley and Candice Lin have a lot of experience in the restaurant industry. They claim to have sworn off restaurants, that is, until they discovered Bozeman and fell in love with it. The couple opened Shan in April of 2023. The restaurant is open Tuesday - Saturday from 4PM-9PM.
