‘No Kardashian Parking’ Signs Pop Up in Los Angeles [PHOTO]
One Los Angeles street artist has no interest in keeping up with the Kardashians. In fact, he's posted numerous signs that read "No Kardashian Parking Anytime."
The artist, who goes by the name Plastic Jesus, is known for his works of "guerrilla satire."
"The Kardashian family has become ingrained in our culture," Plastic Jesus told the Hollywood Reporter. "We've allowed mainstream media to become so profit-driven, we are sacrificing genuine news stories to satiate our vapid celebrity obsessions."
He added, "I guarantee that same number of paparazzi was far greater than any number of photographers chasing real news."
You can see some of the signs in the photo below. One of them is notably in front of the Kardashians' store Dash.
"Stop Making Stupid People Famous' often gets blogged as a criticism of the Kardashians," Plastic Jesus said. "But that piece is also meant to criticize us as consumers. Without us, there would be no market for the Kardashians. We are equally, if not more so, to blame."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, as of April 7, no complaints were filed in regards to the signs, even though a spokesperson for the LAPD says it's a pretty clear case of vandalism.
Of course, the Kardashians are no strangers to criticism. Kim Kardashian faced a backlash for her controversial Paper magazine cover, including disapproval from Naya Rivera. Sharon Osbourne also slammed Kim for wearing fur and using North West as a "accessory."
