If you head to almost any grocery store, you'll most likely see shelves with empty spaces. That's because many products are out of stock due to shortages created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

At first, it was toilet paper and hand sanitizer, but now many products that Americans love are becoming harder and harder to find. We've talked about a few before. The latest product that is disappearing from grocery store shelves is Sriracha.

Huy Fong Foods, the company that makes Sriracha, announced that it has completely halted production because of a severe chili pepper shortage. The company sent out a letter in April announcing that Sriracha and other popular products made by the company will have limited availability this summer. The company explained that the shortage is a result of weather conditions that are affecting the quality of chili peppers.

Personally, I love Sriracha and am deeply saddened by the news. If you happen to find Sriracha on the shelf in a grocery store, I'd suggest you stock up while you can. The company said it won't be sending out any product until after Labor Day.

Hopefully, the shortage doesn't result in aggressive customers fighting over the last bottle of Sriracha on the shelf at the grocery store. People got pretty competitive when there was a toilet paper shortage. Let's hope people are able to keep their cool, especially considering the absence of chili peppers.

If you're unable to find Sriracha at the grocery store, don't fret too much: you'll be able to get your fix eventually. You may just have to wait until September. I guess we'll just have to go back to putting ketchup on our scrambled eggs.
