Petition Asking Gallatin County To Require Masks Circulating
A Change.org petition asking the Gallatin City-County Health Department, Governor Steve Bullock, and the Bozeman City Commission to institute a requirement that people wear masks/face coverings in public in Gallatin County is asking residents to add their names to the petition.
As of Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., 2,321 people have signed. The goal of the petition is to reach 2,500.
According to the petition posted on Change.org;
It's time for Gallatin County to institute a requirement that people wear masks/face coverings in public.
According to a Disease Ecology Lab at Montana State University, studies show that face coverings reduce the droplets spray when worn over the nose and mouth.
As of July 8, Gallatin County has the 2nd most active COVID-19 cases in Montana with 98. Yellowstone County leads the state in active cases with 190, according to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map.
Governor Steve Bullock recently recommended that Montanans wear masks.
