Many people on social media have been asking when the road to Fairy Lake will open. We reached out to the Custer Gallatin National Forest office in Bozeman to get an update.

We were told that there is currently a five foot drift at the gate, and the opening of the road will depend on when that drift melts. That could be as early as Tuesday, June 16. If all goes as planned, Fairy Lake road should be open to motorized travel beginning next Tuesday.

Fairy Lake is one of my favorite destinations in the Bozeman area during the summer. It's a great place to take family and pets. My dogs love going for a swim there during the summer.

There is also great opportunities for camping. There are 9 campsites available at Fairy Lake on a first-come, first-served basis.
