School Board to Meet Monday About New Bozeman High School Mascot

The Bozeman School Board is scheduled to meet at 5:45 p.m. Monday night, and one of the items on the agenda is discussion regarding Bozeman Gallatin High School's new mascot.

For the past month, the board allowed the public to weigh in by offering their suggestions online as to what mascot they would like for the new high school.

Below are the names currently being considered. According to the school district website, they are looking to avoid using mascots from another AA school or from any school that is considered a feeder school into the Bozeman High School District.

The first six names are the most submitted names. 18 additional names were forwarded by the transitional committee.

After tonight's school board meeting, students and staff will be polled as to their choice of the mascot and colors. Top results from the student/staff poll will be made available to the public for online voting in the near future.

The results of the community poll will provide guidance to the transition committee and the board in making the ultimate decision.
