Spring has official begun and Cardinal Climbers starts are doing well in a sunny living room window. Bozeman's never ending struggle of trying to balance a short growing season and starting things too soon inside is a fun challenge for me.
Again this year, I can't resist. Starting a few seeds - some will still, some won't. Basil to be practical and a few flowers just to see what happens. Our true growing season is a long way off but "babying" a few plants is an incredibly effective winter therapy.
I love being outside planting things, maintaining the lawn and enjoying flowers bloom all Spring and Summer. Come Fall, however, it's time to put things to bed and it isn't nearly as much fun. Unless you cheat, every single year.
It's funny how every year is completely different. Some years I have giant sunflowers. This year I have 2 that are no taller than 18 inches. This year had to be kept simple because of gardening time restraints.
