With fall finally settling across Montana, we're starting to see cooler days and nights, changing leaves, hoodies, and everything pumpkin spice.

Montanans seem to be into just about anything pumpkin spice—in fact, we rank in the Top 5 when it comes to states that love the classic fall flavor. Google Trends recently came up with some data that broke down what folks from each state are searching for as far as pumpkin spice goes, and Montana's most searched-for pumpkin spice product just might surprise you.

It seems Montanans are searching for pumpkin spice syrup.

Montanans aren't the only ones searching for the product; our friends in Wyoming and Louisiana are apparently also big fans of pumpkin spice syrup. I mean, it doesn't sound horrible, right? A plate of pancakes or waffles and you cover them in butter and pumpkin spice syrup. I'm not a pumpkin spice person, but I would totally eat that.

If you're not into the whole pumpkin spice craze and you think the syrup sounds weird, check out some of these other popular pumpkin spice searches.

  • Pumpkin Spice Cup O' Noodles
  • Pumpkin Spice White Russian
  • Pumpkin Spice Marshmallows
  • Pumpkin Spice Dip
  • Pumpkin Spice Spam
  • Pumpkin Spice Wine
  • Pumpkin Spice Pudding
  • Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Balls
  • Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix

A couple of these don't sound half bad, although I would absolutely pass on both the pumpkin spice Spam and the pumpkin spice Cup O' Noodles. However, those pumpkin spice cheesecake balls sound like a winner.

Montana's Favorite Must See Pumpkin Patches.

Sweater weather is just around the corner...hopefully. These hot summer days are getting to be a bit much if I am being honest! I mean football shouldn't be going on with 100 degree temps in the background. It's time for chili, oversized sweaters, pumpkin spice (yes I said it) and of course...pumpkin patches.

If you are new to the state, you will learn that pumpkins don't necessarily grow the best here. We have unpredictable weather. Sometimes a very long winter and sometimes a hot dry summer (like this year). Pumpkins need to have at least 6 hours of direct sun light along with good soil and lots of water.

Finding a pumpkin patch for you or the kiddos in Montana is a bit of a struggle. Luckily, here are three that you should definitely try out. Just make sure to call in advance so you can plan the perfect pumpkin picking date.
