Winter is just around the corner, which means cold days and snowy nights. Of course, it also means soup season.

Who doesn't love a great bowl of soup? Montana has its share of great restaurants that offer all kinds of delicious soups, from simple to complex, but homemade soup can be an inexpensive way to feed your family for a few days, especially if you're on a budget.

So if you're looking for a great soup recipe that's not only delicious but also filling, you're in luck. I have a chicken noodle soup recipe that will absolutely knock your socks off.

First, you need a big pot to make the soup in. You'll also need the following ingredients:

  • One whole chicken
  • A quarter stalk of celery
  • 3 to 4 carrots
  • Family-size can of cream of chicken soup
  • One large bag of egg noodles
  • Tony's Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper

First, you want to make sure you have enough water in your pot to cover the whole chicken, but don't over-fill. Bring the water to a boil with the chicken, celery, and carrots in the pot and allow to boil for one hour.

After an hour, remove the chicken and leave the water and vegetables in the pot. With the water still boiling, add the can of cream of chicken soup, along with the bag of egg noodles. You will want to boil the noodles until they are soft.

While doing this, go ahead and start to shred the chicken, but keep in mind that the chicken is going to be extremely hot, so you might want to either wear gloves or run the chicken under cold water first. Add the Tony's, along with the salt and pepper, then add the shredded chicken.

Let the soup simmer for a bit and enjoy. It makes a huge batch, and in my opinion, it's even better the next day. Do you have a favorite soup recipe? If so, send it to us on our app.
