This Saturday the Montana State Bobcats hit the road to take on the Northern Colorado Bears in another Big Sky Conference game. The Cats are 5-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

The Bears are 2-4 overall and 1-2 in conference games.

While playing on the road is always more difficult than playing at home, Bobcat fans have to be excited, as fan favorite Tommy Mellott is expected to start for Montana State University this Saturday in Greeley, Colorado. Mellott is returning to the field after being injured early in the Eastern Washington game on September 24th.

Sean Chambers, who stepped in as starting quarterback after Mellott went down, has led the Bobcats to victories over Eastern Washington, UC Davis, and Idaho State. Chambers even won the Conference Player of the Week during that stretch. He also has 18 total touchdowns this season, with 13 of those coming from him running into the endzone himself.

While Mellott is scheduled to start, it would be a safe bet to think that Bobcat fans will see both quarterbacks on the field this Saturday against the Bears. Talk about a 1, 2, punch, right? Both players bring a dynamic that requires opposing defensive coordinators to do their homework and spend a little extra time on the game plan when it comes to defending the Cats' offensive attack.

After a week on the road, Montana State returns home to host Weber State next Saturday. Don't forget, you can catch all the games, home and away, on the official station of Montana State Football, 100.7 XL Country.
