Ultimate Montana Dive Bar Tour 2021: Where to go, Part 1

We're going to tour the best of Montana's rural dive bars on our 1st Annual Montana Dive Bar Tour. (Yes, there will be a designated driver 100% of the time, but we're also after good snacks and burgers at places we've never been to.)

THE MINT BAR & GRILL (Livingston, MT - 102 North Main Street) Starting off on familiar territory in Livingston. Love The Mint in downtown Livingston and it looks like Lobster Rolls are back on Wednesdays at 4pm. Taco Tuesdays, Sunday Brunch...The Mint is one of our safe, happy places.

THE OLD SALOON (Emigrant, MT - 210 Counts Lane) "Serving outlaws and cowgirls since 1902". Booze, food and live music in the beautiful Paradise Valley. Burgers, sandwiches, bar appetizers.

TIMBER BAR & GRILL (Big Timber, MT - 116 McLeod Street) Never been here before but it looks cool and they serve food. Soups, burgers, chicken and daily specials. (Their Facebook food pictures look pretty darn good. Spaghetti grilled cheese? Sure.)

NEW ATLAS BAR (Columbus, MT - 528 East Pike Avenue) I know the owners of The Atlas but I haven't been in for a been in quite a while. 'Bout time we fix that. "Definitely an interesting experience. Evidently, they have the oldest liquor license in the state of Montana. Very affordable drinks in a neat little spot."

THE GUST HAUF (Glendive, MT - 300 West Bell Street) Looks like the bar only does beer but I'm intrigued by a local place that's been serving pizza for decades. "Opening our doors in 1965, The Gust Hauf is home to fresh, brick oven pizza and hand-picked microbrews." Lots of TVs, indicating a sports bar vibe. Soups, salads and simple sandwiches are on the menu too.

THE JACK SALOON (Lolo, MT - 7000 Graves Creek Road off of Highway 12) I'm SUPER excited about this one. I've never been there and it's just west of Missoula. We're going to have to get one of their cabins and hang out for a while. With lodging options, live music and events, food and the bar of course paired with great views. We're in. Cabin rentals and parking for RVs and Campers.
