I woke up this morning feeling pretty good. Took the dogs out, admired the new snow, made some breakfast, kissed my wife, then jumped in the shower. I was thinking "it's a beautiful Montana morning, this is going to be a great day!"

I didn't have a clue.

I should tell you that one of my pet peeves and something that will take me from zero to lose my mind in under two seconds is horrible parking, which seems to be an issue here in Bozeman. I realize that in the big scheme of things, it's a relatively small thing, but we all have our issues, right?  So, after what started off as a darn near perfect day, came to a screeching halt when I went outside to see that someone parked so close that I couldn't get in through the driver's side.

In all fairness, I'm a big dude, so sometimes I would give the benefit of the doubt, however, a child would have had a hard time getting in that door.

My only option, go through the passenger side, which is what I elected to do.  So, I get in the passenger side and begin to scoot over to the driver's side.  The whole time, I'm cussing and cursing the driver of the vehicle next to me in my head. Once I settled into the driver's seat, I thought..."no one will ever believe me when I tell them how close this person parked to me".  However, at that point there was no way I was crawling out, taking pictures, then crawling back inside.

I did end up taking a couple of photos from the driver's side window as you can see below:

I'm just trying to understand, at one point does someone think parking that close to someone is ok? And it's not just parking close, it's parking at an angle, parking halfway in, leaving the back end of the vehicle in the passing lanes. I see it all the time around Bozeman. Maybe you're thinking, well maybe they're from out of state. Fair point, and many times they are. However, that wasn't the case this morning, they were straight-up Montana plates.

So, what's the solution to this problem? Public shaming? Citizens arrest? A ticket? A petition to revoke their driver's license? I'm totally open to suggestions.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
