The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Madison and Gallatin Counties on Saturday.

The Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning through Saturday night.

  • WHAT: Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches at lower elevations, with 5 to 10 inches in the foothills and mountains. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • WHERE: Madison and Gallatin Counties
  • WHEN: From 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning through Saturday night
  • IMPACTS: Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The combination of wet and raw conditions could severely stress newborn livestock.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Flash freeze conditions are possible on roads as melted snow on roads from recent warm temperatures suddenly turns to ice.
