[OPINION] One of the Most Annoying Things About Bozeman
I don't normally complain about much, but this is something that has been getting on my nerves lately in Bozeman.
In the past week, I have noticed quite a few electric scooter riders buzzing around town. They're practically on every street corner. I got stuck behind a scooter on Rouse the other day. He was riding in the lane of traffic and had a line of cars behind him going approximately 10 miles per hour.
I've almost been run over on Main St., and I've personally witnessed people having to jump out of the way of an oncoming scooter. I'm not against people having fun and using the scooters to get around town, but I do have an issue with people disregarding safety and not following the rules.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but for some reason, it really bothers me. I came into work this morning and there was a scooter parked right in the middle of the sidewalk. It's like most people riding the scooters lack any sort of common sense. In my opinion, the scooters are a nuisance. If people can't ride them on the sidewalks, then where are they supposed to ride them? It seems that wherever the scooters are, they're a safety hazard.
I know that I'm not alone. In June, a coworker of mine noticed the same thing and expressed her feelings toward electric scooters. Mainly, she wanted to know if there was a solution to the problem. Should there be designated drop-off spots so the scooters don't clutter up sidewalks?
Bozeman already has a handful of traffic issues, and people negligently riding scooters around town are only making things worse. Are you okay with the scooters, or do you think they need to go? Let us know how you feel you feel about the scooters on our station app.
